Capitol Annex has joined forces with more than a dozen of the state’s most prominent progressive bloggers to send out a loud-and-clear message: we want State Rep. Rick Noriega (D-Houston) to run for Texas Senate.
Via Draft Noriega, we’re pooling our resources and doing what we can to let the world know that much of the progressive blogosphere believes Rick is the best person to defeat John Cornyn.
No other announced or exploring candidate in the race has either Rick’s distinguished record of accomplishing things for the people of Texas or the ability to unify the Democratic base to take U.S. Senator John Cornyn on.
We urge Rep. Noriega to seriously consider entering the race. As bloggers and a significant segment of the Texas Netroots, we believe that Rep. Noriega’s is the kind of progressive, netroots-friendly candidate we need in Texas.
So, please visit Draft Noriega and add your voice to the chorus of the thousands of Texans we believe will step up to ask Rick Noriega to jump into the race.
