TX CD-22: Lampson Raises More Than A Quarter Million

For those wondering how tough the fight for Republicans seeking to oppose Congressman Nick Lampson (D-Stafford) will be in CD-22, check out how much Lampson raised for the most recent reporting period (via campaign press release):
The Lampson for Congress campaign announced today that U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson (D-Stafford) raised $288,000.85 during the most recent Federal Election Commission reporting period. Lampson, who recently had to spend six weeks recovering from major heart surgery, now has $441,049.87 cash on hand.
“Despite having to spend half of the last quarter recovering from a quadruple bypass heart surgery, Congressman Lampson exceeded the campaign’s original goals,” campaign spokesman Steven Snodgrass said. “Nick has been a strong and independent voice for the people of TX-22. Given the campaign’s solid progress and his bipartisan voting record, Congressman Lampson is in great shape for 2008.”
Not bad numbers for a guy who was literally probably ordered to his bed by doctors for a while early this year.
I’d love to know what numbers Skelley Sekula-Gibbs plans to post for this period.
