In a move that could split Senate District District 11 wide open and make a perfect environment for a Joe Jaworski win, Rick Perry appointee, contributor, and former State Republican Executive Committee Member Tim Turner has announced plans to oppose State Sen. Mike Jackson.
Turner, who is presently a civilian appointee to the Texas Medical Board, is appearing to run to the right of Jackson on an anti-tax platform, via QR:
He referenced a June 29, 2006, article in the Pearland Journal where Jackson was quoted at a luncheon as saying, “Most people are OK with higher taxes. It’s the Realtor businesses and big smoke stack industries that get upset.”
“I don’t know what world he’s living in,” Turner said. “Most people are not OK with higher taxes. I most certainly am not.”
A former SREC member running against a sitting state senator will bring out a lot of cash and a lot of right-wing donors, too. I wonder where Leininger stands on this race.

The most significant quote of Tim Turner which demonstrates his whole viewpoint was carried in The Quorum Report: “The fact we didn’t have change in the blocker bill denied us Voter ID and that’s something citizens were screaming for,” he said.
I wonder what country those “screamers” are supporting? Not the Constitutional United States!
