TX 23: NRCC Has Anointed An Opponent For Ciro Rodriguez

By Vince Leibowitz  on Jul 31, 2007 in 2008 Texas Elections

There may be at least six or seven Republicans vying to take on Ciro Rodriguez in Congressional District 23 in 2008, but it appears as though the NRCC has already anointed their guy:

San Antonio lawyer Francisco “Quico” Canseco is seeking the GOP nomination to challenge Rodriguez.

Also eyeing a Republican bid are Bexar County Commissioner Lyle Larson and San Antonio businessman Jim McGrody.

“We’ve got at least one excellent candidate right now: Quico Canseco,” NRCC Chairman Tom Cole said. “We think he will be a very formidable candidate.”

Interesting.
