Liveblogging at Yearly Kos - panel on MSM and blogs

Vince was kind enough to allow me to liveblog on Capitol Annex while I’m at a panel discussion on mainstream media and blogs at Yearly Kos.
Jill Filipovic is talking about small issue oriented blogs and how they do a better job digging deep than the MSM (she gives them an A). She says the MSM has better access to lots of stories than the blogs - example: Iraq. She gives the MSM a C+.
Glenn Greenwald is talking about the convergence of MSM and bloggers. Talking about how some MSM reporters/writers are now blogging and some bloggers write for more established publications. In a narrow sense there is a blurring of the lines. In a broader sense, there is a difference - level of skepticism, level our government should be reported on, etc. Because of the MSM stories, more Americans know about John Edwards than they do that Sadaam Hussein had nothing to do with 9-11. This does not give the MSM politcal press a good grade.
