Go Hunting With Tom Craddick & David Dewhurst

Thanks to a tipster for this lovely tidbit:
Want to go hunting with Tom Craddick or David Dewhurst? Well you can–if you are the top bidders for two items in a auction to be held on Oct. 5th as part of the “Expo Banquet & Conservation Hall of Fame Celebration”. The event is being held to benefit the Texas Parks & Wildlife Foundation. Hunts with Craddick and Dewhurst are included in the 18 items to be auctioned.
Oh, my.
Evidently the hunt is billed as a “Trophy Hunt” and has a value of a whopping $8,000 (that’s more expensive than one of the speaker’s gold toilets).
The trophy elk hunt near Walnut Springs is to be hosted by TPWF board member Will Beecherl. Toss in an extra $3,500 and the hunt can be upgraded (upgraded!) to include a White-Tail Deer and/or Scimitar-horned Oryx (a what?).
The Dewhurst hunt will be a two-day affair at King Ranch, featuring five-star accommodations.
Wouldn’t it be hilarious if an anti-hunting environmentalist (or liberal activist) bid on the hunts and forced Craddick and Dewhurst to spend two days with them in the woods?
