HD 8: Cook Draws A Likely Pro-Craddick Opponent

Bobby Vickery (R-Frost), who has announced he will challenge Rep. Byron Cook (R-Corsicana) in the GOP Primary, is a pro-Craddick Republican recruited by Craddick allies, according to Capitol Annex sources in HD 8.

Vickery, who denied to discuss his campaign with the Quorum Report, is reportedly following a new strategy for pro-Craddick Republicans following the bloodbath they suffered in House District 97 earlier this week, which is to keep mum about all things related to their campaign until after the filing deadline. Republican candidates who are being recruited by Craddick’s forces are reportedly now being urged to behave like “dark horse” candidates by doing little and not speaking to the media until January.
