Rep. Robby Cook (D-Eagle Lake), has announced he won’t seek re-election to his House District 17 seat, via QR:

“I am announcing that I will not seek reelection to the Texas House of Representatives for District 17. It has been a true honor, privilege and pleasure to have served in the Texas House for the last 6 terms. I feel like my office has accomplished many of the goals that we had set when I first ran for election. It’s time now for me to spend more time on the farm and with family.

“I wish my colleagues success in the upcoming legislative session and future sessions as they continue to grapple with the issues of our rapidly growing State. My constituency can rest assured that my staff and I will continue to serve them and whatever needs they may have through the end of my current term.”

No word on who may vie for his position on the D side.
