Craddick To Announce Interim Charges

Tipsters advise us that House Speaker Tom Craddick will announce interim charges starting today, and that the release of the full set of interim charges will be divided over the next two or three days.

With a large number of Chairmen having defected from Team Craddick, we’re advised that the interim charges will mostly be loaded upon the few committees still dominated by Craddick loyalists. In particular, at least two interim charges that would have normally gone to Patrick Rose’s Health and Human Services Committee will be pawned off on Appropriations.

Additional tipsters also tell us Leo Berman’s Election Committee will have an interim charge on Voter ID, but that it is still being debated as it could be used as a campaign issue for Democrats.
