TX HD 4: Morales Will Seek Betty Brown’s Seat

Ending several weeks of speculation, Crandall educator Victor Morales announced he will enter the Democratic Primary for State Representative in Texas House District 4, currently held by Betty Brown (R-Terrell).
Brown also faces an opponent in the Republican Primary, Wade Gent (R-Terrell).
Morales, of course, is best known for his 1996 run for United States Senate where he polled nearly two million votes against former U.S. Senator Phil Gramm. He also ran for U.S. Senate in 2002, losing the Democratic Primary to former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk (D-Dallas). He ran for Congress in CD 28 in the 2006 Democratic Primary against Henry Cuellar (D-Laredo) and Ciro Rodriguez (D-San Antonio), coming in third place.
