earlier that some questions had been raised about the number of valid signatures Judge Linda Yanez had submitted for her ballot access petition as required by state law for a nomination to the Supreme Court. the Texas Supreme Court must obtain 50 valid signatures from voters in each of the Court of Appeal districts. The problem for the Yanez campaign is that they seem to be lacking the necessary signatures in Districts 1 and 14. As Vince points out ina follow up post, it may not be possible for they Yanez campaign to rectify the problem. There are some conflicts in the law and this may need to go to court to clarify the matter. In all likelihood, Criss will be the sole candidate running in Place 8.
