TX CD 17: Edwards Gets An Also Ran For An Opponent

From the Waco daily:
Waco video businesses owner Rob Curnock is challenging nine-term U.S. Rep. Chet Edwards, D-Waco, after filing late this afternoon for a spot on the Republican ballot for the March 4 primary election.
Curnock lost the GOP primaries in 2000 and 2002, so I can’t imagine that the folks at the NRCC are too enthused. I won’t say Chet will have a walk in the park, but I strongly suspect Curnock is not nearly as worrisome as other potential opponents could have been.
So, perhaps Edwards will be able to spend a little of his campaign warchest to help elect other Dems across the state.
