Texas AFl-CIO COPE Convention Liveblogging: Address Of Supreme Court Candidate Sam Houston

“I’m not a politician, I’m a lawyer. I’m proud to be a lawyer, I’m proud to be a trial lawyer. I am running for Supreme Court, Place 7. There needs to be a change in our Supreme Court of Texas.”
You know where John Cornyn started out? The Supreme Court of Texas? Do you know where the Republicans started the domination of our state? The Supreme Court of Texas with a gentleman named Karl Rove handling many of their campaigns. It is time to start taking back Texas one step at a time. I am in this race because who better to take back Texas for Texans than a man named Sam Houston.
It takes more than a name. I will spare you bragging on myself. Read about my background. It is time for a change in our Supreme Court. Justice has been skewed.
I will be fair. I respect the jury system. I can tell you one other thing about our supreme court. They say that justice delayed is denied. Their backlog is four years right now. It is imperative that we do that.
I need labor, I need people. I need you to help me get out of the primary. I need your endorsement. It is time for Democrats for Texans to take back the state and to beat the Republicans.
