TX CD 10: Doherty Campaign Misrepresenting Truth About NAIS Statements

It seems as though Larry Joe Doherty’s campaign just doesn’t seem to know when to leave well enough alone.
Late this afternoon, Doherty’s camp issued a press release calling on fellow Democrat Dan Grant (D-Austin) to “apologize” for misrepresenting Doherty’s position on the National Animal Identification System in the TX CD 10 race:
This morning, KUT retracted an erroneous description of Doherty’s position on a National Animal Identification System (NAIS).
This is a lie and Doherty knows it. Capitol Annex called KUT and was advised that Doherty did in fact make the statement attributed to him. However, it was on his website and not in an interview, which he evidently never returned calls about conducting. The description not erroneous. It was on Doherty’s website! While Doherty is correct in saying it wasn’t in an interview, everything else is 100 percent false. Doherty is just trying to run from his support from NAIS.
The only person who should be apologizing is Doherty.

This is a typical Larry Joe tactic….make a flat out denial over “semantics”.
Another case in point, his campaign finance manager (Jim “Mattress Mac” MacInvale) HOSTED a fundraiser for MITT ROMNEY, while serving as LJD’s campaign finance manager.
How did LJD “spin” it in the blogosphere? There was a blog posting stating he wanted to address a “rumor”, and that HE PERSONALLY didn’t attend the fundraiser.
His attendance was never in question. What was in question was the propriety of a DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE’S FINANCE MANAGER hosting a FUNDRAISER for a REPUBLICAN Presidential candidate.
If you spin the lie hard enough, people that don’t read will believe it. Isn’t this behavior beneath us as Democrats?
