Strange Stuff In Democratic Primary Judicial Race In Lamar County
By Vince Leibowitz on Mar 19, 2008 in 2008 Texas Elections
In North East Texas, the runoff race for the Sixth Judicial District Court is getting quite heated.
In the runoff race for the court that serves Lamar, Red River and Fannin Counties, it has surfaced that one of the two candidates is accused of practicing as a psychologist without a license.
In a letter released this week to Capitol Annex, a Clarksville couple alleges that David Hamilton, who faces attorney David turner, claimed to be a psychologist and provided hypnosis treatments to the wife:
We were assured by “Dr.” Hamilton that the visits would be covered by isurance. After several
visits, we came to the conclusion that Dr. Hamilton wasn’t helping her at all. Then, we discovered that he was not even licensed in Texas to practice psychology. Our health insurance company would not reimburse us for our expenses to the clinc, which was over $1,000. The basis of the dneial was that Hamilton was not a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas. When I confronted Hamilton with this, and asked him to give us our money back, especially since his “treatments” did her no good, he refused. I insisted, and he replied “Sue me; I’m a lawyer, too.”
Of all of the allegations to come out this election cycle, this has to be the wildest.
