Making It Easier To Comment On Capitol Annex

By Vince Leibowitz  on Jun 22, 2008 in Admin

After several trials and several errors, we’ve made some changes to Capitol Annex which we believe will make it easier for users to comment while continuing to protect the site from spam attacks which have previously crippled the site. The new changes take effect at 1 a.m. on Sunday morning and will continue for one month for evaluation. If they were successful without the site being bombarded by spambots again, we will make the changes permanent.

For now, all Capitol Annex readers are able to comment by simply filling out their name and email address, putting down their comment, and filling out the CAPTCHA form on each post. Registration is not, at this time, required to post a comment. However, we do recommend and encourage you to register before posting comments.

Although the comment process will be less burdensome, comments from first-time commenters will be moderated for review as a precaution.

I’m not seeing a way to register as a commenter. Could you enlighten me?

Yes, I can. You go here: http://www.capitolannex.com/wp-register.php to register and here to log in: http://www.capitolannex.com/wp-login.php

Since I changed it to not require registration, it took those links off of the comments, so I’ll have to add them back using the template.
