SD 17: Chris Bell Announces For Texas Senate

Putting yet another seat in the Texas Senate in serious play this cycle, former Congressman Chris Bell (D-Houston) has formally announced his campaign for Texas Senate.

We’ll be taking a look at the four competitive senate races this cycle throughout this week, but want to make a few interesting notes about Bell in passing.

Number 1, it looks like he’s kind of had a little bit of a makeover:

The hairstyle is a bit different, and the new style of glasses give him that “I’m smart, but also cool” look. Very nice.

Second, his website is running on a Content Management System called Drupal, which is the same CMS John Kerry used in 2004 (and many other campaigns have used as well).

  1. links from Technoratiand back up the coast past Galveston all the way to Beaumont/Port Arthur. Part of this district contains HD-149, Hubert Vo’s district, and, ironically, is partially contained within Al Green’s district. The district may be over 10% Asian American.According to Vince, Chris has had a minor makeover, or what I might call “a new hairstyle and new frames.” Stay tuned for more on this campaign. Speaking of Hubert, he’s looking a bit pathetic right now. Vo defended
