TX SEN: Cornyn Provides A Quarter Million To Help Elect Other Corrupt Republicans

Salivating for a higher position on the Senate leadership ladder (that is, if he survives the current election cycle), U.S. Senator John Cornyn announced yesterday that he would gift $250,000 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee:

Sen. John Cornyn announced at a lunch today that he was forking over $250,000 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Senate Republicans held their weekly policy luncheon at the NRSC today instead of in the Capitol, giving Cornyn a chance to shine.

As a member of leadership, he feels an obligation to pitch in and help the team,” said  Cornyn campaign spokesman Kevin McLaughlin. Cornyn, vice-chair of the Senate Republican Conference is reportedly interested in being the NRSC chairman next election cycle. But, said McLaughlin, “He is concerned about his re-election right now.”

Cornyn has reason to be concerned. Most polls show him in a very tough position heading toward November.
