Texas Republicans Lead The Way (Suitcases In Hand) At Strange End-Of-Session Protest/Sing-In At U.S. Capitol

This is simply too strange for words. Texans John Culberson and Kevin Brady (suitcases in hand, no less) were in the thick of things. Culberson Twitted the episode. You can watch the herd of unruly GOP Congressmen in their “Drill Here, Drill Now!” press conference (also courtesy of Culberson):

The only thing we have to say is this: When will one of our Texas Democratic Congressmen become a Twitterer? We need a counterpoint to Culberson. (Yeah, we know it’s against the House rules, but here’s what we have to say to that: Let Congress Tweet!

When Congress comes back in five weeks, I hope (and fully expect) to see Congressman Lloyd Doggett, Congressman Chet Edwards, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, Congressman Ciro Rodriguez, Congressman Ortiz, or another Texas Democrat Tweeting. Better yet, why don’t all of the Democrats in the Texas Congressional Delegation start Tweeting? Republicans don’t hold anything near a monopoly on social networking.
