Florence Shapiro (R-Plano) was forming an exploratory committee for the U.S. Senate.Now, Dallas Blog is reporting that another Republican, Railroad Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones, will enter the race.When Jones first showed interest in the race, McBlogger said a general election against either Shapiro or Jones would “be like kicking a puppy” for Democrats.But don't expect Shapiro and Jones to be the only Republicans to enter the race.While Shapiro would likely have an edge against Jones, Democrats will likely be faced with at least one more well-known Republican opponent in this race. Former Secretary of State (and Republican Victory 2008 Chairman) Roger Williams, Attorney General Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov.
