TX CD 07: New Poll Shows Skelly Within Eight Point Of Culberson

About a month ago, we told you about a new Rasmussen poll that showed Michael Skelly (D-Houston) within seven points of Congressman John Culberson. Now, a Research 2000 poll has been released that basically echoes that, with Culberson at 48 and Skelly at 40 percent.
In such a Republican district (that hasn’t, in fact, been hotly since 1970 and hasn’t been represented by a Democrat since 1966), this result shows that Culberson is truly in a vulnerable state.
More:
Skelly enjoys superior favorables to Culberson (40/27 fave/unfave, to 43/38 for Culberson), and is very nearly tied with the incumbent among unaffiliated voters (Culberson leads 46-41). In addition, Skelly has proven one of the best fundraisers of all Democratic candidates this cycle, having consistently outraised Culberson this year.
We’ll watch thi one and see how it goes.
