A Final Reminder About Election Day Coverage On Capitol Annex

In a few short minutes, you’ll see that the front page here at Capitol Annex will be looking a little different than normal. Don’t be alarmed–we’re not changing themes again (not before the election, anyway). What we are doing is removing all categories from the front page except the Election 2008 category, a new front page category on the 2009 Speaker’s Race. We’ll also be showing video streams for our UstreamTV liveblog that begins tomorrow night about 7 p.m. and a category for our CiL (CoveritLive) liveblog. The Election 2008 category will be going across both columns on the front page.
After tomorrow, the normal categories will return to the front page (although the 2008 Election category will be replaced by posts related to the 81st Session of the Texas Legislature).
Also, by way of a programming note, expect some downtime on the blog between 9 a.m. (when we have our last pre-scheduled post to go up) and noon or shortly thereafter while we travel to the super-secret district from which we’ll be liveblogging tomorrow night!
Don’t forget that you can also follow Capitol Annex tomorrow night as follows:
1.) On The Blog. This is the typical way that mos readers get their content from CapitolAnnex. Just visit the blog at capitolannex.com, or use an RSS reader like BlogLines to view our RSS feed.
2.) Via Twitter. If you are a Twitter user, go to twitter.com/capitolannex and follow us from there, or subscribe to our updates. Keep in mind that we will be using Twitter both to distribute each new blog post as it comes out, but also to keep readers informed about when posts are updated. We’ll also be Twitting out special election results messages throughout the night.
3.) Via UStreamTV. Capitol Annex will be broadcasting live video and audio feed via UstreamTV from an Election Night Party in the districts of one of our Capitol Annex 2008 Hot House Races. We’ll reveal which district we will be blogging from Tuesday afternoon and put up links then, so stay tuned!
4.) Capitol Annex’s Election Night E-Updates. Subscribe to our Google Group and you’ll receive frequent e-mail updates about what is happening on Election Night around the state and the nation.
5.) CoverItLive. We’ll also be using CoverItLive. CiL will stream our UStreamTV broadcast as well as receive originally liveblogged content. We’ll embed this in the blog later, but in the meantime, here is a link.
