Perry Keeping Same Consultants For 2010 Race As Hutchison Looks Toward Bush’s Team

Texas Governor Rick Perry announced this week that he would keep political advisor David Carney, pollster Mike Baselice and media consultant Dave Weeks at the helm of his 2010 run for governor just as word is surfacing that U.S. Senator Kay Bailty Hutchison is talking to some of the team that led President George W. Bush’s 1994 and 1998 runs for governor and his presidential campaigns.

Capitol Annex is advised that Hutchison has marganilized Bryan Eppstein and hired consultant Todd Olsen (who purchased Rove’s firm when Rove joined President Bush’s White House Staff) and is in talks with former Bush communications guru Karen Hugues about the race.

Why Hutchison would want to be advised by anyone associated with the campaign of the most hated president in American history is beyond anyone’s comprehension.
