Eissler May Return To Craddick Camp

If you’ve been wondering how much of the “Anybody But Craddick” movement (aside from the majority of Democrats) is soft, you have your answer. Elise Hu over at KVUE caught up with State Rep. Rob Eissler (R-The Woodlands), who denounced Craddick last week but now doesn’t rule out coming back to Team Craddick:
It could happen. At this point you can’t rule out anything because nothing’s decided.
This makes me wonder exactly how much of the Republican anti-Craddick support is truly “soft.” Or, for that matter, a smoke screen.
For example, yesterday, it was announced that State Rep. Lois Kolkhorst (R-Brenham) had departed Team Craddick to support Dan Gattis. Since that announcement, however, we’ve heard that shortly before Gattis announced her support, she was making calls for Burt Solomons (R-Carrollton). Today, we heard from some Capitol sources she was making calls on her own behalf. So, not only is a possible pro-Craddick subterfuge likely, but there is, of course, the massive amount of Republican Egos in the chamber to consider.
