The Texas House of Representatives today postponed consideration of a resolution to honor former president and Texas governor George W. Bush after State Rep. Lon Burnam (D-Waco) raised issues over the resolution’s language praising the former president’s anti-torture techniques, reports Quorum Report.
The resolution, HCR 62, was sponsored by Charles “Doc” Anderson (R-Waco). Anderson, you may remember, was previously under hot water for some videos he showed the House Criminal Jurispridence Committee.
At first blush, nothing appeared out of the ordinary with House Concurrent Resolution 62 by Waco Republican Charles “Doc” Anderson, which was scheduled to be taken up during this morning’s floor session.
