Bill Would Allow Residents To Make Political Donations When They Register Vehicles

An interesting bill by State Rep. Mark Homer (D-Paris) would allow Texas political activists to do some “one stop shopping” when they register their motor vehicles.
Under House Bill 4215, motorists could, if they so desired, make a contribution to the political party of their choice when they visit their county tax office to renew their vehicle registration fees.
If passed, the novel concept would allow for the collections of contributions to any party that ran candidates in the most recent statewide election.
