Among more than 1,000 bills filed on the final day of filing for the 81st Texas Legislature on Friday was an odd bill by State Rep. Dan Branch (R-Dallas) which would remove part of Terri Hodge’s House District 100 from her district and transfer it to Branch’s HD 108.
The micro-redistricting bill would transfer Census blocks 3015, 4015, 4016, 4017, and 4023 of Dallas County census tract 000500 from HD 100 to HD 108 prior to the 2010 elections.
There is no word on what, exactly, prompts the change, or what geographical areas these Census blocks contain, but we’ll keep you posted.
