Perry Compares Obama Administration To Plague Of Locusts

Appearing before the Young Conservatives of Texas this weekend in hopes of securing their endorsement for re-election in 2010 against U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, Texas Governor Rick Perry compared the Obama administration to a plague of locusts.
Via the Statesman’s Postcards blog:
“We’re in a battle,” he said before comparing the Obama administration to “locusts covering a field.” “We can either run from the storm, or start putting out the big sprayer with some pesticide.”
But the repeated references to the war “for the heart and soul of the nation” and the relative strength of Texas’ economy didn’t appear to sway the college-aged audience in either direction.
It isn’t surprising that the right-wing rhetoric isn’t even resonating with the right-wing anymore. I think even people as conservative as the Young Conservatives of Texas realize that the economy is everyone’s paramount concern.
