The U.S. Senate Campaign of Texas Railroad Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones is denying rumors that she is set to leave the race for Kay Bailey Hutchison’s U.S. Senate Seat.
Alicia Collins, campaign manager notes:
The rumors you have heard are completely untrue. The fact is, Commissioner Jones is running for the United States Senate and is not getting out of the race. She fully intends to run until last vote is counted.
I’m not sure if you heard, but we announced just last week that Former Governor Clements and his wife Rita have endorsed Commissioner Jones. Our campaign is clearly gaining momentum and this is nothing more than a failed tactic to distract from the growing support for Commissioner Jones’ candidacy.

Getting endorsed by former Gov. Clements is gaining about as much momentum as we’ve been getting with Rail Road Commission action on pipeline safety issues in urban neighborhoods and on folk’s land out in the country!
