Capitol Annex has learned that State Rep. Chuck Hopson (D-Jacksonville) is switching parties later today.

Saying that President Obama and the Democrats in Congress do not reflect the concerns and conservative values of his district, State Representative Chuck Hopson announced today that he has formally resigned from the Democrat Party and will formally join the Republican Party at a formal press conference this coming week in Jacksonville, Texas. Details for the press conference will be announced later.
Joining Hopson at the upcoming press conference will be local, state and national Republican leaders including United States Senator John Cornyn, Texas House Speaker Joe Straus, Texas Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples, and East Texas Republican officials.
Hopson has a news conference scheduled for later today. A switch for Hopson is unsurprising. He won his 2008 re-election contest by a very small margin and narrowly fended off a House-floor election challenge.
Hopson has previously had key House Republicans, including State Rep. Warren Chisum (R-Pampa) in his district helping him with campaigns, including blockwalking.

No longer a ‘politician’, he is now a ’statesman’ cause he is actually representing his district instead of big government. There seems to be a stirring in the democratic party. Either, others do the same or their will ultimately be revolt in America. Americans are tired of liberal agendas being forced on them & higher taxes.
Someone just wrote a book on a small town in America that stands up to federal tyranny & ends up starting the 2nd American Revolution like Lexington 1775. It’s powerful & shows all the problems today & what Americans are willing to do when their rights are being taken away.
Great read it you want to know what’s going to happen in the nxt 3 yrs.
