State Rep. Al Edwards has decided to take his contest of the March 2 Democratic Primary results showing former State Rep. Borris Miles (D-Houston) as the winner of the HD 146 contest to court.
Statement from Edwards below:
As some of you may be aware of the fact that I have filed an election contest in the 113th District Court. The suit will enable access to all voting materials and information relating to the primary election held on March 2, 2010 for State Representative of District 146.
We must be absolutely sure of the accuracy of all election results. The County Clerk, County Chair, Election Judges and voters during the election procedure for State Representative of District 146 have done an excellent job. We appreciate their commitment and hard work. Filing an election contest is the best way to acquire the most information and access to all electronic records, applications, and absentee documents from the March 2nd election in order to serve the purpose of meticulousness.
Most importantly, as State Representative of District 146 it is my duty and responsibility to keep the constituents updated on all of the issues. Thank you for allowing me to be a serve to you.
