If you wondered how delegates from your area–or Texas Superdelegates–voted in the official roll call at the Democratic Convention in Denver, wonder no more.
A Great Clinton Speech Excerpt: Keep Going

This part gave me chills:
And after so many decades - 88 years ago on this very day - the 19th amendment guaranteeing women the right to vote would be forever enshrined in our Constitution.
My mother was born before women could vote. But in this election my daughter got to vote for her mother for President.
This is the story of America. Of women and men who defy the odds and never give up.
How do we give this country back to them?
By following the example of a brave New Yorker , a woman who risked her life to shepherd slaves along the Underground Railroad.
And on that path to freedom, Harriett Tubman had one piece of advice.
If you hear the dogs, keep going.
If you see the torches in the woods, keep going.
If they’re shouting after you, keep going.
Don’t ever stop. Keep going.
If you want a taste of freedom, keep going.
Even in the darkest of moments, ordinary Americans have found the faith to keep going.
I’ve seen it in you. I’ve seen it in our teachers and firefighters, nurses and police officers, small business owners and union workers, the men and women of our military - you always keep going.
We are Americans. We’re not big on quitting.
Democratic National Convention: Sen. Hillary Clinton’s Keynote Speech

[The following is the text of U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's speech to the Democratic National Convention tonight.]
I am honored to be here tonight. A proud mother. A proud Democrat. A proud American. And a proud supporter of Barack Obama.
My friends, it is time to take back the country we love.
Whether you voted for me, or voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single purpose. We are on the same team, and none of us can sit on the sidelines.
This is a fight for the future. And it’s a fight we must win.
I haven’t spent the past 35 years in the trenches advocating for children, campaigning for universal health care, helping parents balance work and family, and fighting for women’s rights at home and around the world . . . to see another Republican in the White House squander the promise of our country and the hopes of our people.

Democratic National Convention: Lily Ledbetter Speaks

One of the most interesting people speaking tonight–at a convention that truly has a good mix of people–was Lily Ledbetter. If you don’t know who Lily Ledbetter is, you will after you read her speech to the convention below.
Needless to say, it was good to see an equal-pay warrior like Ledbetter address the convention. Her speech is after the jump.
Democratic National Convention: Cecile Richards Address

[Below is the full text of the address of Cecile Richards, Planned Parenthood President & daughter of the late Governor of Texas Ann Richards.]
My mother, Ann Richards, gave the keynote address at the Democratic convention 20 years ago. I wish she were here with us to celebrate—everything she worked for and believed in is coming true this week in Denver.
I am the president of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. After eight years of George Bush, you might be surprised that a Texan is president of Planned Parenthood. After all, there aren’t many people eager to see the words “Texan’ and “president” in the same sentence ever again. I’m proud that for only the second time in our history, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund has endorsed a candidate for president, Barack Obama.

Once Again, Seating Is An Issue For Texas Delegates At Democratic Convention
August 26, 2008 by Vince Leibowitz · Leave a Comment
For this morning’s editions, the Houston Chronicle addresses the issue of the seating of the Texas delegation to the Democratic National Convention inside Denver’s Pepsi Center:
A network television interview platform stands directly in front of some of the Texas delegates on the lower rows of the Pepsi Center.
The state banners for Guam and Alaska partially block others.
And while the view of the podium is better for the delegates seated above Row 13, there’s no doubt that the Texas delegation is about as far from the center of action at the Democratic National Convention as it can be.
That makes some of the delegates from the Republican red state of Texas blue.
“I think we’re being punished for being a red state,” said delegate Reynaldo Trevino, of Lyttle. “The consensus is: The closer you are, the more important you are.”
The seating may be as bad as a case of Crystal Pepsi, but, sadly, it’s nothing new. The Texas Delegation to the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston had to put up with similar arrangements:
