E-Interviews

Later today, the first of a number of Capitol Annex E-Interviews with candidates for Texas House and Senate will go online.
A few weeks ago, I sent Democratic state house and senate candidates in contested races an “E-Interview” and asked them to complete it and send it back for publication on Capitol Annex.
If you are such a candidate or work for one and haven’t seen yours yet, shoot me an email (vince_leibowitz-at-cox.net). I’ve had several campaigns tell me they got caught up in spam filters and what not, so let me know if you don’t have yours and I’ll resend it.
Anyway, the first installments will run daily until I’ve run them all. I have several right now with more coming in.
The E-Interviews are pretty lengthy and cover a lot of territory. I did this for a couple of reasons.
First off, I wanted to make sure that a lot of races that aren’t on the radars of many people across the state got some much-needed attention on this blog.
Second, I wanted to give grassroots activists across the state ammunition for the November election. A lot of Republicans love distorting the positions of Democratic candidates on a variety of issues without even knowing those positions. Through the E-Interviews, I hope to give activists in each of these races the ammunition they need to counteract GOP half-truths about Democrats running in their areas.
